JAuthTools is one of the longest standing authentication libraries for Joomla! with it's roots very early on in Joomla! 1.0 providing simple LDAP and HTTP integration for Joomla! (yes, 1.0 supported LDAP without core hacks!). With 1.5 work expanded into generic libraries and tools which provide a platform for building out integration into various authentication integration suites.

In this workshop we'll work through installing everything and setting up a connection to an Active Directory instance. We'll also spend some time to discover how we can build our own custom plugins to handle specialised authentication methods or user account locations.
