Enabling IP/optical convergence requires seamless interoperability between routers and coherent pluggables from diverse vendors. This involves not only internal communication between plugabbles and host router but also external communication with IP, optical, and higher-layer controllers. We share our insights in achieving this interop, including IETF and OIF activities.
