Amazon OpenSearch Service offers k-Nearest Neighbor (k-NN) search which can enhance search similarity in use cases like product recommendations, fraud detection, image, video and semantic document retrieval. Built using the lightweight and efficient Non-Metric Space Library (NMSLIB), KNN enables high scale, low latency nearest neighbor search on billions of documents across thousands of dimensions with the same ease as running any regular OpenSearch query.
In this short clip, we explain about OpenSearch Service KNN feature, what are the benefits and various use cases. We also demo a use case where you search for clothing items, comparing Full text search and KNN based search
