The Export tool lets you take content from WordPress and then insert it into another application or site. The tool allows you to export all or certain elements of your
WordPress (specifically the content of your site). We will demonstrate how to use the Export tool and show what to expect when selecting specific content for export.

Login to the WordPress Admin
Click on Tools
Click on Export
You can select all of the content or just content type (posts, pages, or media)
Click on the Download Export file

The exported file will be in XML format. WordPress refers to the format as eXtended RSS or WXR.
