The Asus showcase at #COMPUTEX2023 is filled with interesting fodder for Talking Tech. We start with a range of Z790 motherboards and can’t resist the Mini-ITX ROG Strix Z790-I Gaming WiFi with its clever integrated cooling and upside-down storage slot to improve SSD signaling. The ROG Strix SCAR gaming laptop pumps up to 175W into Raptor Lake HX processors paired with a custom liquid metal formulation and premium displays, including a 16-inch Mini-LED option. OLEDs appear in a trio of Intel Evo notebooks, like the carbon neutral Zenbook S 13 and ExpertBook B9 that weigh in around a kilogram, and the Vivobook S 15 that can be equipped with optional Intel Arc A350M graphics and a fast 120Hz display. But the Pro WS W790E-SAGE SE motherboard steals the show by taking Sapphire Rapids to the extreme with overclocking support, loads of Gen5 PCI Express for expansion and storage, and optimized cooling that includes a dedicated heatsink for dual 10G Ethernet.
