Your "About Us" section is your chance to shine, so you'll wanna dig deep and tell your business' story. How did you get started and why? What did you do differently than other businesses?
Consumers are interested in the face behind the business, and a lot of potential customers are willing to go out of their way to make purchases at a shop they connect with.
Consider incorporating features like photos of yourself or your staff, a biography on your expertise, company or product awards, testimonials, or specific quotes from your customers.
Let me show you how to edit your "About Us" section or page so you can connect with your customers.
I'm starting in the website editor. When you started your site, you told us what type of business you have, and we used that to create placeholder text on your site to make building it a little easier.
Scroll down on your homepage and locate the "About Us" section. If you don't have an "About Us" section, you can add one by clicking "+ Add Section,"
"General," and then "About." I already have an "About" section, so I'm gonna go back to my site and click the "About Us" section.
The pane on the right opens with options that we can use to edit this section.
Click the arrow next to "Layout."
There are many different layout options, along with visuals so you can choose how you want your section to look.
I like the one that's currently selected. Next, you can choose the accent color you want, I like black.
And you can also change the alignment of the text that shows in each section group. You can justify left, center or right.
We're gonna keep ours centered. Let's start with the title, it doesn't have to be "About Us," you can try "Our Story," "Who Are We?" whatever you want.
There are a couple of ways to edit the text. First, edit what you see in the preview window, or, second, click the section or section group you want to edit and make the changes in the pane on the right.
Now I'm ready to edit the text in each section group.
Clicking in this section group brings up some editing options for the text itself.
You can highlight a section of text and make it bold, italic, or even make it bigger or smaller.
If you wanna add numbers, bullets, or a hyperlink, you can do that too.
If you look at the pane on the right, there are some additional options that you can add to your section groups.
If you want all of the text to show, you can click the toggle to "Show All Description."
You can add an image to each section group to make your "About" section more personable.
And you can even add an action button if you want your visitor to do something.
For example, in this section, maybe I wanna add a button that says "Read Reviews," and when site visitors click the button, they're taken to a different page or section that has customer reviews.
That's it, that's how you make your "About Us" section yours. And when things look good, don't forget to publish.
