Multi-Dwelling Unit Solution Support
The MDU Multi-Dwelling Unit deployment requires protected port isolation for each unit that is serviced through the 24-port and 48-port smart switches that are listed below. The following Insight-managed devices now support a protected port configuration:
Smart switches: GS724TPv3, GS724TPPv3, GS728TPv3, GS728TPPv3, GS752TPv3, and GS752TPPv3
Access points: WAX625 and WAX628
A protected port does not forward traffic to other protected ports on the same switch but does forward traffic to non-protected ports. This configuration is supported under switch Device/Summary/Ports, as a per-port settings.
When MDU is enabled on an SSID, an access point adds the ETH2 interface to the NAT SSID for any wired connectivity extension within an MDU unit.
