Measuring the performance jump from one processor generation to the next is often a challenge on laptops. Where desktop PC’s make single-part comparisons relatively simple thanks to their modularity, OEMs often configure new laptops using many components that are more advanced than the previous model. To make fair comparisons, Intel with its partners create ‘secret’ laptops for internal testing to isolate the new processor’s true performance increase. Hear from Nick Blair, a technical marketing engineer at Intel, about these secret laptops in this episode of Talking Tech.
