HP showed up to #CES2024 with a stunning ceramic white beauty, the Omen Transcend 14. Aptly named, the Transcend 14 breaks molds as HP’s first 14-inch gaming laptop, and the first to include a 120Hz OLED display. Powered by up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 CPU and RTX 4070 laptop GPU, this notebook comes with plenty of horsepower for serious AAA gaming. It also takes full advantage of Meteor Lake’s NPU, which can process background blur and other video streaming effects so the GPU’s resources can be fully allocated to gaming. We were also introduced to two new models in HP’s Spectre x360 line of 2-in-1s. Their 14-inch and 16-inch designs are powered by Intel Core Ultra 5 and Core Ultra 7 CPUs, respectively, and both feature 120Hz OLED displays. These are certified Evo edition laptops, meaning you can count on impressive battery life, and a suite of practical collaboration and security features. We appreciate the “shoulder surfing” alert, which leverages Meteor Lake’s NPU to detect when someone behind you is staring at your screen and will let you know you’re being watched while blurring your display.
