In this HostPapa tutorial, we show you how to turn your site offline in Joomla!

Log into your Joomla! application and go to your admin panel. Click on Site, then Global Configuration. Click yes next to site offline.
You can edit the message if you wish.
Click save. This now means that only administrators can log into your website.
