Enabling Secure Desktop Access for Government Organizations using Smart Cards

The US federal government, including Department of Defense (DoD) and civilian agencies, require authentication using a Common Access Card (CAC)/Personal Identity Verification (PIV) card. In this session we share how government and other security conscious organizations can increase security through the use of cloud native virtual desktops from AWS. Designed for IT leaders and administrators who are thinking about how to securely empower employees and contingent workers to work from home or move current VDI deployments to the cloud, in this session we will provide an overview of Amazon WorkSpaces and Amazon AppStream 2.0, how current government customers deliver secure persistent and non-persistent desktops, and explain how to deploy CAC/PIV authentication with Amazon WorkSpaces.
