This video showcases Broadcom isolation solutions to drive and sense the IGBT modules from Infineon and Fuji Electric.

Infineon and Fuji Electric offer 1200V EconoDUAL and Dual XT IGBT modules respectively.
These IGBT modules come in current ratings from 225A to 1000A.

The video demonstrates how smart gate drive optocoupler, ACPL-339J is used to scale gate drive design for these IGBT from 225A to 1000A.

The ACPL-C87B isolated voltage sensors are used to measure the DC Bus voltage and sense the temperature of the IGBT module.

Additionally, the ACPL-736J, a 50mV isolated Sigma-Delta modulator, is used with a shunt resistor to measure up 1000A of load current.

The AS33-M50M series encoder is a 50-bit absolute magnetic encoder comprising 18-bit single-turn (ST) and 32-bit multi-turn (MT) counts by Broadcom Inc. The design of this encoder features state of the art Energy Harvesting Multi-turn technology. This technology converts the rotating magnetic field into electrical energy, which powers the revolution tracking circuit regardless of the encoder rotation speed and direction. Therefore, there is no loss of revolution count even in the absence of an external power supply. Energy Harvesting Multi-Turn does not require periodic maintenance of the battery backup components and the downtime associated with it.

The Broadcom® AS35-M23S series encoder is a high-resolution optical absolute encoder module, which offers up to 23-bit single-turn resolution. A key advantage of the AS35-M23S series is the low-profile module assembly. After assembly, the encoder module is only 16.5 mm in overall height. With fast installation and easy one-touch calibration process, the AS35-M23S series is well-suited for direct motor assembly into small motors size of 40 mm and above.

The Broadcom® AR35 Series offers 25-bit absolute encoder with a small form-fit factor to maximize the motion feedback system flexibility. It employs Broadcom's patented reflective optical encoding theory. The AR35 series offers high accuracy with correction, which is unattainable by the magnetic encoder. The encoders are designed for industrial applications with a high operating temperature range of –40°C to 115°C. The AR35-L Linear series encoder is designed for linear scale applications with absolute mode of output, whereas AR35-T Series provides a maximum axial through-hole of 9.5 mm for through shaft motor and axial cabling applications.
